Lagorai

Good shelf life
High yield
Easy to choose
Good taste

The variety

Lagorai is a Floricane variety with high productivity. The fruit has a typical, conical shape, a bright red color, a good size and good winter hardiness. The plant is very vigorous and produces short laterals. These short side branches make the fruits easy to pick. The average weight of the fruit is 6.5 grams. At the beginning of the season the fruits can be up to 9 grams. During the season the fruit size decreases. The fruit has a very good shelf life and firmness. It has a nice taste with a °Brix of 8.7.

The cultivation

The short laterals need extra support. It is recommended to use two lines instead of one to support the side branches. These lines are best places at a distance of 20 cm and 50 cm from the canes. Internodes of this variety are close to each other. During the season the plant needs extra iron to maintain the green leaves. The growth of this variety is very vigorous and therefore produces many side shoots. This means some extra work, but also a high yield.

Harvest and yield

The structure of the plants allows an easy and quick harvest. The harvest period for Lagorai is approximately 40 days. This variety has an average yield of 1.4 kilograms per cane. An average of 600 to 700 cold hours are required for Lagorai. The shelf life of the fruit is fantastic and therefore suitable for all types of sales channels.
